The World Brand Design Society Scholarships

The aim of The World Brand Design Society Student (Young Creative) Scholarship is to give a small number of exceptionally talented creatives the opportunity to achieve their true potential. 

 
 

The World Brand Design Society is an internationally renowned design industry platform that aims to support and provide opportunities to promote key stakeholders within the industry of commercial brand design.

The World Brand Design Society charity will provide the first winning students with financial support and encouragement to help them excel in their present educational and future career developments.

First Place: £2000
Second Place: £1000
Third Place: £750
Fourth Place: £500
Fifth Place: £250

Upon winning, selected students or young creatives are requested to send a letter of intent to present how the funds will be utilised and go towards their future educational and career endeavours.

Eligibility Criteria

By entering into the WBDS Student Design Awards, all candidates are eligible and are considered for the Scholarship when entering the Student Design Awards:

1. Students or young creatives must be registered in part-time or full time education presently or have completed their studies, i.e. graduated within three years of entering the competiton.

2. Students must be or have studied for a diploma, undergraduate degree or post graduate degree anywhere in the world.

3. Any programme of study in any discipline is accepted to enter the comptiton/awards and have the posiblity to receive WBDS scholarship award. 


Submission Criteria

Awards and Scholarships will be able to demonstrate the following consideration in their work:

Purpose
Fit for purpose and in line with the overall project objectives from functional and emotional benefits for end-users to ROI for the business and delivering a positive societal impact.

Relevance
How relevant is the delivered solution or idea in relation to the brand, product or service. Also considering how contextually relevant the design work is from a present and future cultural and societal perspective.

Creativity
The generation of an original/unique solution or idea in response to the demands of the initial brief or challenges presented.

Innovation
The implementation and application of new ideas. Ideas which create value for the business, the environment and society.

Delivery
The overall quality of implementation, attention to detail and delivery of ideas and solutions.

Presentation
Communication, visualisation and quality of the presentation. From the quality of the submitted visual assets to the project text description and how the entire project presented.

Society
Considering a broader social perspective by addressing people-centred related issues, e.g., from big environmental concerns to smaller universal or accessible design-related needs of users.
